"Protoplastic Accumulation will be an installation that he will create for Tenderpixel Gallery using the white walls, and potentially the gallery’s gold ceiling, as blank canvas. Straniero employs recycled objects as stamps and embossing tools. This gradual accumulation of traces, shapes and colors produced by the artist will bring into existence a simultaneously organic and geometrical surface that one’s eyes cannot help but become drawn into. The installation work of Nicko Straniero further develops such concepts as creating new visual languages and codes, as well as ‘the fear of the empty space’ (Horror Vacui). The work at Tenderpixel gallery will have a visual musicality to it, pregnant with a multitude design and ornamental motifs, not to mention dynamic movement."
